It could only be more retro if you had to type it in yourself.

Remember when game music was a little less ambitious? When the most impressive creations were achieved with bleeps and bloops in a handful of channels? If you're nodding vigorously — or have no idea what we're talking about — then you might want to check out Rytmik Retrobits.

Unlike previous instalments Hip Hop King: Rytmik Edition and Rytmik: Rock Edition, the game isn't about sounding contemporary or realistic but celebrating the pleasure of intricately created chip music. Fans of our chip and game music podcast NLFM will be right at home.

There's no release date for Rytmik Retrobits yet, but you can hear a few samples of the tunes over at the game's official website.
