Publisher Zordix AB is continuing its quirky output of DSiWare releases ― as revealed back in June with a rather informative trailer ― and fans of grass cutting are sure to be in for for a treat.
1950s Lawn Mower Kids does what it says on the tin. Set in suburban America in the '50s, the game features Tom, Nancy and Tim as they attempt to mow various gardens while avoiding flowerbeds, furniture and even ill-tempered animals. If players are to succeed, all three kids must be kept moving and their individual abilities must be utilised strategically.
Lawn Mower Kids is already available on the Apple App Store and Mac Store, with the DSiWare version set for release on 1st September in Europe. The game will cost 500 points at the DSi Shop and £4.50 / €5.00 from the Nintendo eShop. Time to get those hay fever tablets ready.

Haha looks pretty neat. However, my OCD senses would be tingling if a patch of grass was left un-mown.
You know, it does look pretty interesting, although I don't see what's so "1950s" about it.
If this let control my actual lawn mower, then I might get it otherwise.... No!
I thought they were kidding. Anyway, the teaser trailer earlier this year certainly warrants a purchase.
Nintendo really needs to price their games accordingly. This is really starting to p*** me off. A dollar more, I could understand, but 4 times as much? And the sad part is the games on the App Store are updated frequently. The games we get via dsiware and the e-shop are pretty much 'set in stone' and are pretty much never updated with new enhancements or bug fixes like Apple's offerings. Anyways, just my 2 cents. Nintendo needs to lower their prices and update their content with newer versions like everyone else. It's 2011 not 1996.

Because I have the Mac App Store Version, not a Mobile one.
I immediately thought of HoverBovver on the C64 but aside from lawn-mowing, I think this is almost removed enough from the old game to be considered unique...
Unfortunately, DSiWare games would need to cost more in order to factor in the costs of classifying the game for numerous regions.
Not that I'm fussed as I'm really looking forward to this. =D

A note from the developers here..
The game is ours, we own the brand and this is the original version, specially tailored for the NIntendo platforms. The other was made by a partner of ours and made for that iphone thingy. We know that the Nintendo crowd have a higher standard for gaming and we try to cater to this by making the game more challenging, intense and with a better finish. What I wanted to say is that this a completely Nintendified experience, for us to release and you to enjoy!
