Top 20 DSiWare Games in USA (23rd Oct)

Posted Fri, 23 Oct 2009 by Corbie Dillard

Big mover!

Big mover!

It's Friday and time for our DSiWare Top 20!

It's time to take a look at the most popular DSiWare titles available on the DSi Shop. If you're feeling adventurous you can even take a look for yourself by simply logging on to the DSi Shop, heading into the DSiWare section and then viewing by "Popular Games". It's that easy!

We compile this list using the USA region DSi Shop, so if you live elsewhere your list will probably be quite a bit different. Please feel free to post your region's findings below as always.

Keep in mind that the list below is based on the total number of downloads made recently, not an overall total of downloads since the game's original release.

Top 20 DSiWare Games for the 23rd of October:

1 [1] - Flipnote Studio
2 [2] - Nintendo DSi Browser
3 [3] - MySims Camera
4 [15] - Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon
5 [4] - Dragon Quest Wars
6 [5] - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again
7 [9] - Thorium Wars
8 [7] - Paper Airplane Chase
9 [6] - Guitar Rock Tour
10 [N] - Crash Course Domo
11 [8] - Asphalt 4: Elite Racing
12 [10] - Bird & Beans
13 [N] - Rock-n-Roll Domo
14 [N] - Pro-Putt Domo
15 [11] - Mario Clock
16 [12] - Dr. Mario Express
17 [13] - WarioWare: Snapped!
18 [14] - Art Academy: First Semester
19 [N] - Hard-Hat Domo
20 [16] - Oscar in Toyland

* [N] - Denotes a brand new entry in the Top 20
* [-] - Denotes a game that was not on the Top 20 last week

The top three games remain unchanged, but we did see quite a bit of change in the Top 20 below them. Four of the five Domo titles released this week made their debut on the Top 20 in their same week of release. The only Domo title not making an appearance this week was White-Water Domo. Who knows, maybe it will show up next week.

The big climber this week was Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon, which rocketed up 11 spots to #4. The big droppers this week were Mario Clock, Dr. Mario Express, WarioWare: Snapped!, Art Academy: First Semester, and Oscar in Toyland, all of which fell four spots on the Top 20.

Since we saw four Domo titles make their debut on the Top 20, that meant that four titles had to drop out this week. Mario Calculator, Sudoku Student, Clubhouse Games Express: Strategy Pack, and Puzzle League Express all dropped off the chart this week.

You should take the free stuff off the list.

out of that entire list only DQW really interests me, nintendo should seperate apps from games and have 2 lists, not likely though, took wiiware a while before it had a decent library, so early days yet for DSIware.

Wow, Pinball Pulse really shot to the top of the charts! It's also nice to see Dragon Quest Wars is still holding on strong.

has anyone ever noticed the DSi art style games have no staying power? They're the only games I have on the service, and its quite odd.

We can't take the free stuff off of the list because this is a Top 20. And what happens when more free stuff comes. It keeps getting whittled down and soon will be the Top 6. :D

Hooray for Pinball Pulse, it's exactly the sort of thing that fits the DSi platform well, and never feels cheap or formulaic.

So glad to see Thorium getting the love it deserves.

Yeah.

I find it somewhat amusing that bad games or those with very little content continue to sell so well. Why bother putting time and effort into making an epic game when you can poop out a camera app and watch it remain at #3 in the charts forever?

Go Pro-putt Domo!

I expected Flipnote to be up there, along with Web Browser because of the DSi Web Browser compatible site like DSiCade and DSiHub (which I use, by the way)
